DreamLNK Launches a High-end DL-EFG23-B Wireless Module for Industrial IoT

DreamLNK has officially released the DL-EFG23-B, a new industrial-grade Sub-GHz wireless transceiver module based on Silicon Labs' EFR32FG23 SoC. Designed to address the connectivity challenges of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), smart metering, and smart city infrastructure, this RF module integrates long-range communication, ultra-low power consumption, and PSA Level 3 security into a compact, easy-to-deploy solution.

At the core of the DL-EFG23-B is the EFR32FG23 wireless SoC, featuring an ARM Cortex-M33 processor running at up to 78 MHz, with 256 KB of Flash and 32 KB of RAM. The module operates in the Sub-GHz frequency bands (433/868/915 MHz), providing a clear advantage over the crowded 2.4 GHz spectrum. It delivers a maximum output power of +20 dBm and achieves an industry-leading receive sensitivity of -125.8 dBm at 915 MHz (4.8 kbps), enabling communication distances of up to 3 kilometers in open areas and stable penetration through 3 to 5 concrete walls.

"Interference from Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in the 2.4 GHz band is a persistent issue for industrial deployments," said a spokesperson from DreamLNK. "With the DL-EFG23-B, we offer a cleaner, more robust communication channel with superior penetration and diffraction capabilities, making it ideal for complex environments like factories and underground facilities."

Optimized for Battery-Powered, Long-Life Applications

The module's ultra-low power architecture is critical for remote sensors and battery-powered devices. It features a deep sleep current (EM2 mode) of less than 1 µA, facilitating a battery life of 3 to 10 years on standard lithium cells. This significantly reduces maintenance and replacement costs for large-scale deployments. The module also operates across a wide temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and supports a supply voltage of 1.7V to 3.8V, ensuring reliable performance in harsh outdoor or industrial conditions.

A key differentiator of the DL-EFG23-B is its broad protocol compatibility. It supports standard protocols such as Wi-SUN, Amazon Sidewalk, WM-BUS, and Wirepas Mesh, alongside custom private protocol development. To accelerate product development, the module comes pre-loaded with a comprehensive AT command set, allowing for quick configuration and data transmission via a standard UART interface without the need for complex underlying driver development. For customers requiring deeper customization, DreamLNK provides a complete SDK and toolchain, enabling secondary development on the ARM Cortex-M33 core to implement complex business logic.
